Izzy's work

Kassie Duffy is my mother-in-law. I have been married to her son for 10 years. I am very lucky in the mother-in-law department. I think she secretly likes me more than she does her son. I know she'll never let on, but for those of you that know the 2 of us, come on, you can see it too.
I called her yesterday, and we chatted for a while about the new van, and this that and the other. She said that she had been waiting for me to call, and that there was something that she needed to talk to me about. Well, it is unusual for her to be very serious about something unless it was very serious, so she immediately had my attention.
She told me that in running errands that day she met a young man. She had parked her motorcycle (yes, my mother-in-law has a Harley. She goes to Bike week in Daytona and Sturgis in North Dakota) and when she went back to it, a young guy was looking at it. She started talking to him and he said that he and his wife had just had a baby girl. It was their first baby. He told her that she had very bad jaundice and ended up staying in the hospital for 5 days, and they were just bringing her home that day.
They kept talking, and Kassie ended up telling them about Izzy. They were horrified as most people are. When Kassie described Izzy's umbilical cord, they were more shocked. They unwrapped the baby there and showed her how their daughter's umbilical cord was bleeding like Izzy's.
Kassie urged them to call their Dr, and tell them about Hemophilia and Factor X deficiency and get it checked out.
She asked me if I thought she did the right thing, or if she panicked them unnecessarily.
I told her that the absolute worst thing that could happen is that they lose some sleep over it, worrying about it, they call the Dr, and look into it further. Their baby girl is perfectly fine, and they laugh about how worked up they got about the crazy grandmother in the parking lot with the Harley.
Other scenario.
They call their Dr, who looks into it further. Their baby girl has a bleeding disorder. She gets treatment which prevents a catastrophic brain bleed.
That's my girl, still looking out for others.
